I am Ford loyal but I do like other cars.

For instance I have a 2001 Corvette (yeah quit with the Booing) and I love it. I bought it cause if I bought a Mustang I would have to stick $1000's into it just to get the Corvette performance and handling plus still have a car that I will not get my money out of, even a newer Cobra is slower and gets out handled by older Vettes.

I had a 1992 Mustang GT that I modded the hell out of, Paxton SC, Borla exhaust, this and that plus so much more. When I was done sticking money into it I would have been cheaper buying a Corvette.

Yes I do love the Mustang (got the running Horse Tattoo on my Right Arm) but Ford did loose its way dropping the 5.0 and adding the 4.6 mod motor. The 5.0 is back now so who knows in the future.

Anyway I do love the Fords and for all of my daily drivers I prefer Fords, my fun car is the Corvette.

Anyway this thread is for fun so please post your opinions, please no brand bashing cause even Ford makes junk (cough Ford Edge Transmissions cough).

Right now I have a 1998 Windstar GL and a 1998 Explorer with the 4.0 SOHC.

Lets hear what you got!

When it came time to trade in the Edge, we did not get another Ford. The wife was not happy with Ford considering the transmission started going out on the way to Vegas with her parents in the car. So I think we are taking a slight break from a Ford until the new lease is up and I will talk her into another one.

Maybe by that time they ACTUALLY have the Ford Edge Hybrid they had in the James Bond movie!

Hummm...I think it's in my Pre-Nup I must own a Ford.....

Ford Loyal and that’s not the Blue Oval tattoo talking either…..

Now that I actually think ‘bout it, I mighta gone through more cars than shoes in the past 30 years.....

Let's see now, I inherited the '68 Skylark - first car, after the tree mishap, was the '80 Mustang - stick, 3 engines later, was the Monza - stick, with the BMW emblem I attached to the hood and personalized GM BMW, after the forklift incident, was the Mazda 323 – stick, after it was launched at a red light, was the ’92 Tempo - stick, traded for the ’96 Escort Wagon - stick, upsized to the '98 Windstar and now the '02 Windstar and those are just mine......

I would consider myself ford loyal. Everything i own is ford or ford related, but if a '70 buick gs 455 stage1 was to happen to cross my path, Well that would definitely test my loyalty.

Nope, no Pinto. My Dad had a Pinto Wagon....does that count? That's actually funny. I now want one to make into a bit of a hotrod. Maybe after I finish the 65 F100. :yesnod:

I guess you could say I'm Ford loyal when it comes to work trucks. My Chevy trucks ride a bit better but can't work as hard as my Fords. All my big Chevys are gone, I'm down to two S10's now.
Dodge just plain sucks in most departments except old muscle (hence the screen name). It's hard to beat old Mopar when it comes to power except they are very expensive to build. All my Mopars are sold.
I have a Corvette but I'd really like to try my hand with a Cobra however the $$ isn't there so I'll stick with the Vette for now. BTW: I road race it a few times a year....my last event was exciting..... I rolled the damn thing :(
BTW: I retired from the GM Tech Center. That's where I learned about Ford trucks believe it or not. Part of my job description was 'competitor product evaluations'....tear down brand new vehicles to see how they're built then destroy them.
IMO, Ford trucks were and are head and shoulders above the rest.

Well, I've owned various models from all the big three, a couple toyotas and a Nissan, But the majority have been Fords and Mopars, those two brands I like the most. Other than my 78 Monte Carlo ( loved it, miss it, would love to have another ) all the other gm products I've owned were just ones I bought because I needed something to drive right away cause the previous vehicle broke to the point where it was cheaper to replace than fix. Fords I've owned are
1. 79 Granada first car
2. 68 F100 first truck
3. 81 F150 4x4 POS
4. 80 Mustang LX with 200 six
5. 85 Mercury Marquis, fox chassis version POS
6. 83 F250 excab 4x4
7. 95 Escort LX 4dr, good car but I totaled it off hitting a deer one night.
8. 78 F150 custom 2wd, this truck was stupid fun with a 400 and bald rear tires
9. 91 Ranger 2wd excab POS
10. 82 Fairmont Futura, looked like hell, reliable as granite
11. 02 Explorer Sport huge POS
12. 90 F150 2wd excab, awesome truck, should never have sold it
13. My current project, 78 Zephyr Z7, 200 six, going to get a turbo, body work and a custom interior.
That's it for now, unless I stumble on a good deal on a Bronco or something. My current DD's are a 98 Nissan Altima and an 03 Durango R/T.

Driven many Fords over the years from a 64 Falcon Sprint (wishing I still had it) to F250's.Currently riding in a 2002 Tribute (Escape clone) and a 2001 Sport Trac. But the best car I ever owned was a 61 Porsche 356 cabrio that loved to corner on the New Hampshire back roads.

I started out with GM cars cause I thought Ford was junk, Well after a while I realized GM was junk. Made this assumption after working at a pars store selling nothing but GM and Chrysler engines.

I bought a few Fords and came to the conclusion I was putting less into my Fords than all of the GM cars I owned.

I just recently bought a 2001 Corvette with 14k miles on it, it now has 21k miles on it. It is on its second Transmission (6 speed) and is sitting at the dealer now with a big list of things to fix, lucky I bought an extended warranty cause 1 part is over $700. I would of bought a Mustang but Ford doesnt make anything that can compete with a Corvette.

every car i've purchased was either Ford or Mercury, a zephyr, 2 mustangs, 2 explorers, and an excursion. the car i had handed down to me was a buick electra when i got my license.

i started liking fords when i was 13 while building engines. to make power with a chevy was easy. with a ford, you had to use your head and actually think. i've always liked a challenge :)

2. 1991 Geo Storm GSi
3. 1995 Contour GL (wish I still had)
4. 1998 Windstar GL
5. 1999 Taurus SE
6. 2000 SVT Contour

Man and my wife thinks i go through cars. Since 16 I've had Pontiac, Ford Ranger short cab, Hyundai Santa Fe and Sonata, Ford Ranger 4X4, 1979 F100 or F150, Ford Ranger and currently an 08 Escape. I had a Blazer and a Toy for a short time as my off-road rigs when the Ranger took a costly roll. Now I am 42 and Explore the dirt and snow in the Escape with lots of mods.
FYI: I am looking for a Bronco any year with a straight frame for almost no cost :). I'll pick it up if it's on the west coast.

I would say I'm ford loyal, cars i have owned have all been fords except for one. I've had 2 mid 80's rangers, One had a built 5.0 swap and twin turbos, yes alittle rediculous. I've had an svt focus, and an excursion, sad its gone =( now i have a 94 f-150, and a 79 F-150. I had a jetta once and it was the worst vehicle i have ever owned, will never go that direction again.
