I am gearing up to start restoring ans customizing Sport Steering Wheels. Here is an example of one I have done. I restored the brushed effect finish on the spokes and removed the damaged grip. The wheel I restore is the black grip picture the rest is the end result.
I put a real wood grip on it made of African Mahogany.
Ive been collecting some of these old wheels and I'm excited to get started. I'm gearing up to one with a Dark Walnut grip for someone now.
Any interests?
Anyone have these wheels and want to sell or have me restore one of yours for you?

Absolutely! I have a couple for a Bronco and several for cars. The wheels are the same as well as the mount. What is different is the trim piece at base of the wheel. The Broncos are smaller in diameter and have a contact ring for a functional horn button on the the steering wheel where as the car versions do not.
So yes I know the differences and I am able to restore both.

For better results, you might want to PM that user.
And the restoration is putting wood around the wheel.

Came across your thread on these steering wheels. Nice job on the wood work!
I recently purchased one of these wheels, bit the seller did not know what he had. I think it is the 1979 mustang variant. Can this be adapted to work on a 1978 tilt steering wheel for an f100? The one I bought is missing the center horn button and I found the one made by Dennis Carpenter. Are there other sources that offer differenent buttons?

Tried to PM, but just joined, so it would not let me. Apologize for asking advice on your sales page.

Welcome to the site!
Thank you for the nice commits and don't worry about asking for info on here.
I'm not a 100% positive if will fit directly, it's quite possible it will, sorry for the contradiction... But the easiest way to find out is to give it a go. Without actually seeing both at hand I can't be sure.... But you will find out for sure when you pull the wheel off the truck.
As for center cap options... I can source a new one but I dont give out who or where I get them. I have future plans to recreate my one as an option as well. I have been able to restore a few of these if you find a used one.
Feel free to contact me any time
