Hey ford gods, i have a 89 e150. It is cold blooded and if i put in an electric fuel pump will it solve my issue? Or should i just put in a choke. It will start, and i can keep it running for 5 min but release the throttle it will stall. It is a 83 351 w. Tia

Interesting, because the 1989 E 150 had fuel injection for all engines. The 1983 engine was a move backwards

So you are saying the carb now does NOT have a choke?

Yes when i bought my van, the engine was already installed. It does NOT have a choke. It has sat for a minute due to other work that i needed to do to the van

To operate upon cold start it will need a choke.
Manual or automatic, gotta have one!

An electric fuel pump will not help cold start.
