I have a 94 F-150 with a inline 6 motor, 5speed. It has a hard start, and a rough idle. Sometimes it will start, and then imediatly drop to about 400rpm and then eventually die again. once its on and running it has a rough idle. I replaced the plugs last spring, and they look fine, no carbon. Fuel related problem?

Do the basics first.Start with the ign and check wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Then I would look at fuel system, then look for vacuum leaks. Most likely you have a vac leak by the sound of it.

Did you also change the distributor cap/rotor?? On my 66 Fairlane, inside the distributor cap at the top is a small round carbon?? dome. This had worn down flush to the plastic top. Changed out the cap and rotor and my rough idle and serging miss went away.
