Hi my Dad recently bought me a 1997 Thunderbird LX which came with an aftermarket alarm. Anyone know of a general area for me to look to get rid of it because it will just start ringing for no reason whatsoever.
Any aftermarket alarm I've seen usually have the alarm module and siren as close to the battery as possible to make the wiring job a little easier. Look for the control module ( a small, black box ) either on the inner fender or maybe even on the firewall. Then trace the power wire to the battery and disconnect it. That will shut it up until you have time to remove it completely. Good luck, let us know how you made out!
Yeah, I'm with the Zeph on this one. Find the fuse. You can always track down the wires from there. Fuse might be inside, but usually coming right off the batt terminal.
