Wiring is dirt simple, I couldn't pay somebody to install a Painless brand harness when there are only a dozen or so circuits in the entire system. I could do it on a saturday afternoon, a less experienced person could probably finish it on sunday. These trucks are about as low tech as you can get and are more rewarding when you do it yourself. Aside from that, shop labor is ridiculous and you'd never get any kind of return on your investment. Wouldn't you rather show your friends the $1100 wiring job, YOU did? Engine and tranny's are simple, but intimidating, and shops usually have some sort of warranty and that may work out better in the end. Try the wiring, it'll boost your confidence when it fires to life, and who knows what you'll try next. Rich
