Well i went and did a compression test on the truck today:

cylinder
1: 60
2: 62
3: skiped
4: 0
5: 70
6: 0
7: 85
8: 90

so it look like a bad thing here!

so now the next question valve job or yard motor ... and here is another question for you ... can i line up 5.8 in this truck easily ... i think i can, but not sure ... let me know

It'll bolt in. IF the 5.0 ecm will run it, it'll go real lean anywhere above idle. Carb swap is easy enough, the major part you'll need is a $100 fuel pressure regulator. Rich

ok so i get a 5.8 ecm and bolt it in and go ... i trust you ... but does anyone else have some advice? and the wiring harness should be the same right? just put ecm in

IIRC, the wiring harnesses are the same from 5.0 to 5.8 trucks. ECM is plug and play. Try to get a 5.8 that's the same year if possible though, so the sensor plug ins will be the same.
