The secondary ignition components include the spark plugs, the spark plug wires, the distributor cap, the rotor, and the coil secondary circuit. When the power transistor grounds the primary circuit, the inductive charge built up in the secondary circuit sends a spark from the coil to the rotor. The rotor and distributor cap then send a spark to each spark plug.On newer vehicles such as with coil on plug or COP, the power transistors are located in the PCM. The inductive charge is still built up by the coil and released to the plugs via a spring that connects the coil and plug.

I`ts a 98 F150 4X4 . I checked for vaccum leak by using apropane gas . I`ve changed the PCV valve and I`ve cleaned the air flow valve inside the air filter housing with electrical cleaner . I`ve erased the code on the computer and disconected the groud wire on the battery to erase the long term memory . There doesn`t seem to be any vaccum leaks coming from the brakes . what seems to be hapening is mostly when starting the engine , even if the engine is warm , sounds like the choke is staying on , the engine has like a winding sound instead of the normal sort of rumble sound . this is usually when the engine light comes on with the lean codes .

Try this, connect a volt meter to your O2 sensor and watch it while spraying carb cleaner at intake runner base.If the voltage changes drastically as you spray you have an intake leak

Seeing that I don't know what type of vehicle you are driving,i'll be generic.I have attached a typical intake setup top piece is considered the plenium with intale runners. These are the tubes that go to each cyl. This attached to the lower intake manifold with the continuation of the runners to the cyl heads.Spray carb cleaner ,propane even water will do.

Members,
As we build a new site, we will do our best to keep it orderly. By orderly I mean, threads and issues that are of a particular nature will be grouped together for easier reference.

little_fellow,
You should have started a new thread in the engine and drivetrain section.

BogHog, rather than continue the conversation in the wrong thread, please in the future direct people to the correct forum, and to start a new thread. This will do two things, keep the forums orderly, and allow others who have knowledge of the issues that are typically presented in a particular forum to participate in resolving the problem.

Thanks gentlemen, for your understanding.
