I'm new here and am in the process of swapping my 86k mile 170/3spd for a .060-over 302 roller out of an 85 Mustang and a T-5. I have read several places about swapping the tailshaft and shift rod from an S-10 T-5 to relocate the shifter. Is this necessary in the Falcon? I have seen several older Mustangs that have had T-5's swapped without doing this modification. I will have bucket seats out of a 67 Mustang so that's not an issue. I just need to know if the swap can be done without relocating the shifter. Thanks to all in advance.
I don't have a console, and don't plan on using one unless I build a custom one. So the standard Mustang T-5 shifter location should be sufficient.
