5th to reply. I need to find out WHY WHY WHY my 99p73 coughs and sputters on cold start, then runs fine after 60 seconds. WHY WHY WHY. Sheesh. I put 245000 miler on her since new and she's been a charm. I'd love to fix this.

Anyway, I'm #5.
Could be time for new injectors. My dad's 87 F250 would do this and when he took it to the shop, they replaced them and the problem went away. IIRC it had something to do with some sort of spring in the injector getting weak. Mt dad's truck had over 400,000 km's on it when it happened. Good luck getting it sorted! Oh, and in for #6 lol
I'm still trying to figure out why the HO swap didn't take... I rebuilt the t-bird engine back to factory, but upgraded the cam. I swapped the computer and harness to the 93 bird's. went through 3 different comps, including one from a MK7like the guys i talked to said from grandmarq.net... it's an 89 CV...
CountryJohn, and Jonzo,
Why don't you two each start a thread particular to your issue with a discriptive title in the appropriate forum?

Perhaps we can help you come to a solution.
technically it is in the right thread, and i did start it...:eek:ut:
i gave up on the whole thundervic project because my friend stopped paying me, for the parts, shop, labor, and storage. I told him i got it running, it had to idle around 1600, and he didn't want it to do that since he's a delivery driver, but i told him it had to because the cam he picked for it was a strip setup...
Ohh, overcam, seems to kill a lot of projects before they get sorted out. I figure the computer isn't handling the lack of vacuum at a normal idle all that well. What's the cam spec, Jonzo?

Well Poppy, you're probably right and I think I will. I just wanted to tag my chime-in with a bit of moaning and groaning. I'm going to start the thread today (I think)

Lunati 81302LUN - Lunati Street Avenger Hydraulic Roller Tappet Camshafts - Overview - SummitRacing.com this one, but he took it out, and put the old 400K mile cam back into it. now for some compensation, the cam is all mine, and i'm putting it into my fairmont. carb,s are way more forgiving then fuel injection...
