i might be getting some wheels from an 89 mustang, and need to see if they'll fit on my 79 fairmont. does anybody have any idea how these will fit?

currently my front are 185/75r14
rear is 215/65r14

i know we had a thread like this started on the old site, but i thought it was kinda important...

i also posted this in another section...

Stupid question time...since you are going from 14" to 15". How much will the speedo be affected? Same goes for the odometer as well.

never thought about that one, but it also depends on how far the overall diameter of the tire is too...

that's a HUGE difference! 24.9in=>25.6... 2.2 more inches circumference...

but after looking at the specs with the other tires i have on the rear, it goes in the opposite direction, and should even out.
front it says when speedo says 60, i'm doing 61.7
in rear 60 is really 57.6...

so it evens out to .70 under speedo reading...
does that make any sense to anyone?

here. this is what i used... Tire size calculator

nevermind, i just realized i put in the wrong numbers in the calculator...

I think the numbers you posted are the diameter and not the circumference. The fronts will have no effect on speedometer/odometer readings on a rear wheel drive car.

What ever your speedometer reads you will have to multiply by 2.5%. It isn't a very large amount of difference.
