My son hit a curb on the drivers side front wheel and blew the tire. I had to replace the inner and outer tie rod. There is still some knocking like something is loose. I checked the sway bar link, sway bar bushings, and lower control arm and they are all solid. I checked the passenger side cv axle and it was solid. When I checked the driver side cv axle the outer joint seemed good and there wasn't any play or movement but when I grabbed the very top end of the inner, there is slight movement where it goes into the transmission. Could this be the issue?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There should be two joints on each axle shaft.
An inner joint and an outer joint.

There really should not be much play in the joints. Any play in the inner joint should be the same as the outer joint. If the inner joint has more play, yes that is your issue.

And do check the hub. The axle half shaft with the two joints passes through the hub. That hub has a bearing in it as well..
