Lifetime bay area person of 69 years in a quiet city yet now being attacked by Cat Converter thieves from Oakland Kalif. from across the estuary. The land of side shows and gun fire we hear all hours of the night.
This a 2" diameter exhaust system that must be a Kalifornia Approved Cat (NAZI smog inspections), a only couple manufactures approved for Kalifornia as 90% of manufactures quit selling to Kalifornia. What Cat manufactures approved for Kalifornia????
Most Cats now called "Federal" meaning not approved for Kalifornia.

Old Cat flange forward to engine still attached with a 3" stub of 2" tubing to the missing Cat able to reconnect if replacement Cat were found? Nope not going to pay Ford Dealership price.

Universal Kalifornia Approved Cat. not a problem connected to new Cat, rear of Cat to exhaust system back just a piece of 2" with bell coupling (have hydraulic expanding tools, weld up the system with Miller 251 Mig Remington 12 Ga. & S&W model 29 clear picture from 2nd floor bedroom window.
Universal vs crazy off the wall priced Cat with tubing sticking out one end costing $250 more for short piece of 2" scrap rubing. Pissed off you bet, police usless unless I was serving free donuts....THX in advance.

MagnaFlow 334004 Universal Cat, AutoZone $237.99. Scrap 2" tubing in my exhaust stock collection.
Add several 1" thick wall angle iron strips welded to inlet & outlet of Cat at tube ends, add a thick metal plate welded between angle iron "ribs" over this rear Cat on 04 Escape along with vehicle plate number, same process to be added to 2010 Escape family vehicle.

Told by police off the record "silent compound bow with razor tipped arrows preventing you from being charged with discharging a firearm within city limits". Great advice past thinking about the Spear Gun.
