2003 ZX2, Auto, 86K, I'm the original owner. The AC quit blowing but I could tell compressor was running. I took it to the dealer, they replaced fan motor & charged me $150. Now it sounds like it is blowing hard but barely any air comes out. Now dealer said squirrel cage isn't turning & I need one of those. I'm starting to think we are just throwing parts at it trying to fix the problem. Is there a squirrel cage & does it have bearings? Would a frozen cage cause the old motor to lock up? I always turn the AC off when I shut off motor. Should I not do that? :confused5: I have a friend who is handy at minor car repair & was thinking of buying the cage online & having him install it, if I really need one.
I usually put @ 200K on my cars b4 I get rid of them. But I gotta have AC in Oklahoma! Thanks for any help!

The cage is a plastic wheel that has a flat spot so it wont spin free on the blower motor shaft.It would have to be slipping or they have the motor wired backwards which is possible with some aftermarket blower motors.
