01 Expedition power locks won't unlock

The remote is the only way to unlock doors. Serious pain when taking kids to school, we have to either climb to the back and manually unlock or turn off the ignition and use the remote. The power locks will lock but not unlock. I was hoping someone has resolved this before and can offer some assistance.

Thanks

My guess is that the push button switch in the front door handle/s need to be cleaned (electronic contact cleaner) or replaced. Perhaps more than once a drink got spilled on it.

I'm also guessing that it is housed in a easily removed plastic insert so that you don't have to remove the entire door panel to gain access to it.

The child safety locks only affect the rear doors, (and are child proofed independantly of each other) and when activated, you can not open the rear door from the inside.

Your post sounds to me like the rear door unlock buttons work, but the front door unlock buttons do not work.

the doors should unlock when you pull the handle unless the childlocks are on in the rear.I am sorry i must not have read the question properly.

yes, the child locks work fine except when the passenger side decides to lock istelf intermittantly. None of the power buttons unlock the doors, front or rear. Only the remote will unlock the door. Someone on another site suggested that maybey the contacts aren't clean on the main switch and that it could use some contact cleaner. I will try this sometime today and see what happens
