I took my 2001 Ford Escort ZX2 to a local repair shop because the AC system wasn't functioning properly...stopped blowing cold air. The Climate Control Switch was functioning properly and the AC compressor was engaging and disengaging properly. The mechanic found the following problems: 150 PSI on the low pressure side; jump wire from the low pressure switch to the wiring harness, and some leaking AC hoses. The mechanic recommended the following repairs: replace AC compessor; Command Control Relay module, leaking AC hoses. The fore mentioned items were replaced and the AC system is working great, however; the AC clutch is now running constantly and will only disengage when the Climate Control Switch is placed on defrost mode. The mechanic that did the repairs informed me that I needed to replace the Climate Control Switch. I purchased a new Climate Control Switch from the Ford Dealership here in town. I replaced the Climate Control Switch and I still have the same problem. The AC system, Climate Control Switch, was operating normal prior to having the system replaced...just wasn't blowing cold air. What could be causing the AC compressor to run constantly? Why does it only disengage when the Climate Control Switch is in defrost mode? What should the mechanic be focusing his attention on, besides just replacing random parts? Thanks

I recently replaced the PCV Valve and hose, IACV, and cleaned the throttle body. I have also checked all vacuum hoses for leaks. I don't think it's a vacuum leak because the AC system was functioning properly prior to having CCRM, AC Compressor, and leaking AC hoses replaced.
