Do 65 falcons with straight sixes have a counterweight on the throttle bar, because I think mine does and it is interfering with the v8 block when pedal is pressed down?
first part: you would be better off finding one for your car.No rod from carb to trans, but when it rolled off the factory line the car came with a four speed that was converted to a c4 automatic.
It could have something to do with the clutch, the pedal is still there, so maybe.first part: you would be better off finding one for your car.
second part: that would explain why nobody seems to know what the heck that thing is... is it possible it was for a mechanical clutch linkage?
sorry i meant to add downshift rod. i was spacing out when i typed the last one.Finding a new transmission or what? I do not understand. Sorry.
my thoughts exactlyThe tab shown in the photos IS NOT FACTORY, someone has welded it into place. Notice the "bubble gum" weld.
Take it off the linkage, it doesn't beling there. it appears that someone saw the need for a throttle pedal stop other then the car's floor. probably someone who had a teenager that was driving the car at wide open throttle.
So chopping it won't affect anything. That's just what I wanted to hear. Thanks a bunch guys. It's gone. The tab shown in the photos IS NOT FACTORY, someone has welded it into place. Notice the "bubble gum" weld.
