Hello,
I have a 2013 Ford Taurus and the left turn indicator in the dash is blinking too fast. I checked the indicator lights and they are also blinking fast. What could be the reason.

The rears may have more than one bulb. Or the bulb in the front or rear is incorrect. (LEDS?) Or the flasher is incorrect. Or there is a wiring issue that doesn't cause a ground out, (most people will call this a short circuit) however it changes the load on the circuit.

The flasher works on an electrical load and is sized to a specific load. As the turn signal is switched on a current flows and heats up a small coil in the flasher. Once it reaches a certain point the circuit is interrupted and the lights flash off.

Change the electrical load (add or subtract lights or change light type) and the flasher flashes at a different rate.

I noticed that the rear left indicator was less bright compared to the rear right so tried to take out the left rear bulb but turned out to be a sealed unit. Is it possible to change bulbs on the 2013 Ford Taurus SEL tail lights?

Almost looks like you need a torx wrench to remove the bulbs. These bulbs are LED.

Don't forget the front lights are a factor as well.

How long have you had this issue?
Were there any repairs or changes made prior to that condition?
Did you buy this Taurus brand new?

BTW I believe the turn signal is in the deck lid. (Trunk) Not the fenders or quarter panels. I might be wrong on that. However there are two different versions. Notice the differences in the lamps in the quarter panels for the different 2013 Taurus models pictured.

Which one do you have?

I am the second user , I dont think the unit was replaced. Even the manual for the Taurus says to see a dealer if the tail light bulb needs change. I dont see any difference in the pictures of the lights you posted but the one at the bottom looks like mine for sure as it is not lighted. The bulb seems to be in the quarter panel.

If you are going to click the quote button instead of the reply button, make your reply outside of the quote.

The difference between the two vehicles pictured is in the quarter panel mounted lamps. One Taurus has clear/white lenses on both the quarter panel mounted lamp AND the deck lid mounted lamp. The other Taurus has a completely red lens on the quarter panel mounted lamp. This is important.

The top Taurus is a cop car with much less expensive lighting. (No LEDs) The bottom one is a LED arrangement that appears to be an assembly that has no replaceable light bulbs.

Used ones on ebay would be a better choice IF the lights do not work. Dim lighting could be a poor connection or ground. Check for dirt and poor connections. Clean as needed and reconnect. Otherwise lamp replacement may be needed. For further information an shop manual would be needed.
